Philips Healthcare is launching a new dedicated cardiovascular ultrasound scanner, Affiniti CVx, at this week's European Society of Cardiology (ESC) annual meeting.
Affiniti CVx is designed to provide improved productivity to users, enabling cardiology departments to operate more efficiently and support higher throughput and fewer resources, according to Philips. It includes workflow features first introduced on the company's Epiq CVx premium cardiology system.
Like Epiq CVx, Affiniti CVx has a configurable user interface, automated scanning tools, and the ability to share transducers -- including transesophageal probes -- between Epiq and Affiniti models. The new scanner also includes the company's AutoStrain technology, which cuts by 70% the amount of time required for strain analysis.
Philips is launching the Affiniti CVx scanner at ESC 2020.Philips believes that the features on Affiniti CVx will enable ultrasound departments to standardize their scanner fleet, making it easier to manage systems, improve cross-platform training of staff, and reduce total cost of ownership.
In addition to the launch of Epiq CVx, Philips is launching the 7.0 release for the Epiq CVx scanner. The new version includes improvements to enhance the diagnostic confidence of users and improve their experience with the system, according to the company.
For example, the new tools enable faster measurement of left atrial appendage by using 3D, as well as modes that expand on photorealistic rendering by enhancing the visualization of blood flow, jet origin, and morphology. Updates to AutoStrain have also been in the 7.0 release.
