Epiq CVx 5.0 now includes several automated software applications designed to increase the speed of cardiac ultrasound exams, as well as decrease variability between scans:

  • AutoStrain LV automatically provides users with different 2D views of the heart's left ventricle.
  • AutoStrain LA and AutoStrain RV automatically deliver measurements of left atrial and right ventricular longitudinal strain.
  • 3D Auto RV automatically contours the right ventricle and allows for the quantification of relevant measurements in less than 15 seconds, according to Philips.

Philips has also added automated diagnostic capabilities to its Epiq CVxi scanner. The company plans to unveil these upgrades at the upcoming American Society of Echocardiography meeting in Portland, OR.
