The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) has published a white paper on how to implement a liver contrast program.
The piece appears in the January/February issue of the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and provides information on how contrast-enhanced ultrasonography works, the planning required to implement a contrast program in the laboratory, and how to perform the liver contrast exam.
It also offers a workflow chart that outlines the necessary steps for a liver contrast exam, from when the patient arrives for the appointment to disinfecting transducers and the room before the next patient.
