Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) developer Butterfly Network has debuted biplane imaging on its Butterfly iQ+ handheld ultrasound system.
Now, Butterfly iQ+ users can visualize short- and long-axis views simultaneously in real-time, helping them with central and peripheral venous access, arterial access, nerve blocks, musculoskeletal injections, and more.
Biplane imaging is available on iQ+ because of Butterfly Network's ultrasound-on-chip technology that includes a 2D sensor array to simultaneously show intersecting planes, allowing users to see both short- and long-axis views simultaneously, the firm said.
