Philips will highlight its expanded ultrasound portfolio for cardiac imaging during the EuroEcho 2021, the European Society of Cardiology's virtual meeting being held December 9-11.
The company's latest release of its Epix CVx and Affiniti CVx ultrasound platforms now includes a next-generation nSight Plus imaging architecture and a new X5-1c transthoracic transducer. The additions were designed to support cardiology patients and clinicians from early detection, diagnosis, and treatment to ongoing assessment and long-term follow-up, the company said.
nSight Plus is a proprietary imaging architecture that touches all aspects of image acquisition and processing, creating images with pixel-level resolution compared with conventional systems, which form images line by line, the company said. The new Philips X5-1c transducer facilitates easier access to imaging windows between the ribs.
In addition, Philips' expanded echocardiography suite includes Collaboration Live, an integrated teleultrasound solution that provides remote access to clinical staff in real-time during exams.
