Philips Healthcare has added several capabilities to its Lumify handheld ultrasound system, including a pulsed-wave Doppler technique and new features for obstetrics.
With the company's Pulse Wave Doppler tool, clinicians will be able to utilize Lumify to quantify blood flow in point-of-care diagnostic applications such as cardiology, vascular, abdominal, urology, obstetrics, and gynecology imaging, according to the vendor. In addition to 2D and color imaging, Pulse Wave Doppler allows users to assess hemodynamic patterns to differentiate between arterial and venous blood flow and quantify hemodynamic function, Philips said.
Philips has also incorporated new obstetric measurements features to aid in early assessment of gestational age and the identification of high-risk pregnancies.
