Philips secures cardiovascular imaging contract with Va. clinic

Royal Philips will supply Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA, with cardiovascular imaging software and tech at the future home of the clinic's Cardiovascular Institute at Crystal Spring Tower.

Carilion’s new facility will have 11 Philips interventional suites, allowing physicians to treat patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. Services will include inpatient nursing care, cardiovascular operating rooms, cardiac catheterization, and electrophysiology labs. Along with offering care to the local community, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a major referral center in the area and the only level-one trauma center for patients in the region.

Philips will supply software and technologies for cardiovascular indications, including its Azurion Image-Guided Therapy System, its Epiq CVx cardiology ultrasound system with ultrasound-enabled AI capabilities, its IntraSight with SyncVision for intravascular ultrasound imaging, and physiology and interventional tools. All aim to reduce x-ray dosage for patients as well as improve workflows and clinical confidence.

Philips will also provide Carilion Clinic with a service and maintenance program, it said.
