DOBI begins testing of breast imaging unit

DOBI Medical Systems has begun clinical testing of its Dynamic Optical Breast Imaging (DOBI) system, a device that employs dynamic functional imaging to detect the development of blood vessels associated with the growth of malignant lesions.

Researchers at the Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey will evaluate the effectiveness of the DOBI system in differentiating cancer from benign lesions in women with equivocal mammograms, and will conduct other clinical testing of the system, according to Mahwah, NJ-based DOBI.
