The Avon Breast Care Fund awarded a $92,000 (U.S.), two-year grant to the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) to increase education on the early detection of breast cancer. The funds are drawn from the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, which has raised $80 million since 1993.
The Arab women’s breast health program at ACCESS was launched in 1997 to refer medically underserved women to low-cost or free mammograms and clinical breast exams. Since its inception, the program has provided 80% of its at risk participants with their first mammogram.
