Mammography firm Fischer Imaging had revenues of $11.3 million in its fourth quarter, down 16.9% compared with the $13.6 million reported in the same quarter last year. For the period (end-December 31), the Denver-based vendor had net income of $1.3 million, compared with net income of $902,000 in the fourth quarter of 2000.
For the year, Fischer had revenues of $48.2 million, down 5.4% compared with the $51 million posted in 2000. Despite the lower sales, it was the second straight profitable year for the firm: Fischer had net income of $3.3 million, compared with net income of $2.1 million in 2000. Cost reductions have allowed the company to focus on the rollout of its SenoScan full-field digital mammography (FFDM) system, said vice president and CFO Rodney Johnson.
