Women's imaging vendor Hologic of Bedford, MA, reported robust revenue and income for the company's 2006 fiscal third quarter (end-June 24).
For the period, revenues rose to $120 million, a 62% increase compared to revenues of $74 million booked in the third quarter of fiscal 2005. Hologic reported net income of $12 million, a strong gain from the $8 million reported for the same period in fiscal 2005. The firm also reported a record backlog for the quarter, of $165.7 million.
For the first three quarters of the current fiscal year, Hologic's revenues increased 47%, to $309 million compared with revenues of $209 million in the first three-fourths of fiscal 2005. Hologic has also recognized net income of $29 million, compared with net income of $19 million for the comparable nine-month period in fiscal 2005.
