Record sales of its Selenia full-field digital mammography (FFDM) systems helped propel Hologic to record revenues and earnings in its 2007 fiscal first quarter.
For the period (end-December 30), the Bedford, MA-based firm had revenues of $163.2 million, up 86% compared to the $88 million reported in the first quarter of 2006. Hologic had net income of $16.1 million, compared to net income of $5.7 million a year ago.
The improvement in quarterly earnings was primarily attributable to increase in Selenia sales; the vendor installed 228 systems in the quarter.
