Powered by the installation of 282 Selenia full-field digital mammography systems, women's imaging vendor Hologic posted record revenues and earnings in its second fiscal quarter (end-March 31).
The Bedford, MA, company achieved revenues of $181.1 million, compared with $100.1 million in the second quarter of the last fiscal year. Net income climbed to $21.6 million, compared with $11.1 million in the same quarter a year ago.
For the six-month period, revenues escalated to $344.3 million, up from $188.9 million in the same period of the last fiscal year. Net income more than doubled to $37.7 million, compared with $16.9 million in the same period a year ago.
Mammography/breast care revenues rose to $144.9 million in the quarter, a gain of 99% from $73 million last year's second quarter.
