Court dismisses suit against Beekley

A federal court has dismissed a patent infringement claim against imaging accessories developer Beekley of Bristol, CT, the company reported.

Judge D. Brock Hornby of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine dismissed a lawsuit against Beekley brought in 2009 by Solstice of Portland, ME. The suit alleged that Beekley's mammography markers infringed on a Solstice patent for x-ray identification markers.

The dismissal came as part of a settlement reached on September 30, following a decision by the judge that determined that since Beekley's products were used solely for mammography, they did not infringe Solstice's podiatry patents.
