A stronger service business offset a decrease in new licenses to buoy group revenues for medical imaging software developer MeVis Medical Solutions in its 2010 fiscal year.
Group revenues increased 3% to 14.3 million euros ($20.4 million U.S.), compared with 13.9 million euros ($19.9 million U.S.) in the 2009 fiscal year. MeVis was led by its digital mammography segment, which had a 7% gain in revenues to 10.7 million euros ($15.3 million U.S.) in fiscal 2010.
The lack of development of the company's CT lung business led MeVis to take a one-time impairment charge that affected profitability. The company posted a loss of 8.4 million euros ($12 million U.S.) in fiscal 2010, compared with a profit of 400,000 euros ($572,000 U.S.) in the prior fiscal year.
