The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) has launched Breast Imaging Basics, a new online breast imaging educational series.
The 10-module series provides medical imaging professionals and students with a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of breast imaging in an interactive format, ASRT said.
The series provides illustrations and animations that cover topics ranging from the technical aspects of breast imaging equipment and instrumentation to identifying common pathologies and tips for improving image quality, according to ASRT. The organization has also included information about the principles of breast ultrasound and the theory and physics behind producing, acquiring, and displaying digital mammograms.
Participants who successfully complete all 10 modules will receive 15 continuing education credits, as well as a document from ASRT recognizing their achievement and a free positioning guide. More information is available at ASRT's website.
