Medical image sharing provider OneMedNet is launching a new image exchange service.
The company's Beam Women's Health Image Exchange service allows breast imaging centers and radiology departments to transfer a patient's mammograms to another care provider for comparison, consultation, or treatment, according to OneMedNet. Once received, the exams are combined with a patient's existing images in the facility's image archive.
The cost of the service is less than what facilities spend to burn and mail requested exams on a CD, and it's based on a sliding scale depending on usage volume, OneMedNet said. A free trial of the service is available to healthcare facilities that perform mammography exams.
