Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee signed breast density reporting legislation into law on May 28, making Rhode Island the 17th state to adopt this type of legislation.
The bill, S 2522, will go into effect on October 1.
Other states with breast density notification laws include Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
