Women's imaging vendor Hologic posted revenues that were 1% higher in the company's third quarter (end-June 28), while the firm swung into the black compared to the same period last year.
For the period, Hologic had total revenues of $632.6 million, up slightly from $626.1 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2013. The company reported net income of $11.3 million, compared with a net loss of $11 million in the corresponding quarter of 2013.
Revenue in the company's Breast Health segment grew 3.5% to $238 million, as the segment experienced strong sales of 3D mammography systems and revenue growth from the service of its installed base of digital mammography systems. Sales of 2D systems have declined as customers move to 3D technology.
