U.S. breast localization market to reach $878M by 2020

The U.S. breast localization market will reach $878 million by 2020, with a compound annual growth rate of 14.5%, according to a new report by Research and Markets.

In 2015, the market was valued at $446 million, the company said. In the report, it categorizes the market into at least three segments: wire localization, radioisotope localization, and magnetic tracers. Wire localization is an established method with the most market share, but the magnetic tracers segment will grow the most due to its efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and improved surgical planning, the company said.

The increasing number of breast cancer surgeries and favorable reimbursement for localization devices will spur the market's expansion, according to the firm.
