Delphinus Medical Technologies recently installed its SoftVue 3D whole-breast ultrasound tomography system at the East Alabama Medical Center.
The center is the second site in the world to purchase and offer patients the technology, Delphinus said.
SoftVue is used as an adjunct to screening mammography. It is designed to identify more cancers while also reducing false positives and decreasing unnecessary recalls and biopsies. The system can be used to image women with dense breast tissue at the same time they present for mammography breast cancer screening, the company noted.
