Run-of-Site Banners
Run-of-site banner ads run in all non-exclusive sections of the website. They may be animated, and the 300x600 half-page banner is even expandable. Banner positions are: 970x90 super leaderboard along the top of the page, and the 300x600 half-page banner along the right side of the page.Our website uses a responsive layout to reach members who use mobile devices. Separate narrow banners are used for this alternative display, and advertisers must supply these narrow versions. Banner positions are: 450x100 super leaderboard narrow along the top, and 300x250 half-page narrow, below the articles.
Each banner on our site has a specific set of requirements, depending on its placement. Please take the time to read the banner requirements as they relate to your specific banners. If you are not the person creating the banner, please pass along this information to the designer.
Rotation
Run-of-site banners are displayed in an equal rotation with other run-of-site banners. Banners are loaded on the page each time a page is opened or refreshed. For example, if there are six (6) active super leaderboard banners running in rotation, then six members who are logged in to the site simultaneously will each see different banners.

What You Must Supply, general
For each banner, you are required to submit the following materials to [email protected]:
- Graphic file - Your graphic files must be in GIF, JPG, or PNG format.
- Click URL - The URL is the destination website where readers will visit upon clicking your ad. This may be your home page, or a specific product promotion page. The URL will launch a new browser window.
- Alternate text - This is the text that will appear when a viewer holds the mouse cursor over the alternate banner. This is also the text that will appear if, for whatever reason, the reader's browser is unable to load images at the time the page is viewed. Please limit it to 90 characters. If you do not provide alternate text, we will use your company name.

Half-Page Expandable
- Submit two files
- File 1 - Dimensions: 300x600 pixels, Max File Size: 80kb
- File 2 - Dimensions: 600x600 pixels, Max File Size: 100kb
- File Format: GIF, JPG, or PNG
- Animation: 15 seconds maximum. Please refer to our Animation and Rich Media Specifications.
Inline
- Initial Dimensions: 450x100 pixels
- Max File Size: 40kb
- File Format: GIF, JPG, PNG, HTML
- Animation: none
Super Leaderboard Narrow and Half-Page Narrow Options
1. Narrow Text Only
- Headline length limit of 75 characters including spaces.
- Body length limit of 180 characters including spaces.
2. Narrow Small Graphic with Text
- Graphic is 70x70 pixels, 35kb file size.
- Headline length limit of 75 characters including spaces.
- Body length limit of 180 characters including spaces.
3. Narrow Graphic Only
- Graphic is 450x100 pixels, 40kb file size. Animation is allowed for 15 seconds. Pop-up (optional)
- 300x250 pop-up centered on screen upon user tap.
- 100kb size.
- May be image or video.
- May incorporate Javascript and CSS.
Third-party Ad Servers
We accept DoubleClick and most other major third-party ad tags. If you have a question regarding your ad service, you may send us a sample ad tag and we will be happy to test it.
