LVO stroke assessment
In other highly viewed news this week, we reported on the merits of a new protocol for assessing patients with a suspected large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke. Researchers in Spain found that better long-term outcomes could be achieved by bypassing traditional neuroimaging and transferring these patients directly to the angiography suite.

Minnies nominations
We've received quite a few nominations so far for the Minnies, our annual awards event recognizing excellence in radiology. But if you haven't submitted any nominees yet, there's still time to make your voice heard.
Nominations will be accepted until midnight Eastern time on Sunday, August 15. Minnies will again be awarded in 15 categories, including Most Effective Radiology Educator, Best Radiologist Training Program, Best Educational Mobile App, and Best New Radiology Vendor.
The winners will then be decided by AuntMinnie.com's expert panel and announced in October.
