Three-dimensional software developer Vital Images reported record revenue of $3.6 million in its third quarter, up 28% from the $2.8 million posted in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-September 30), the Minneapolis-based vendor had a net loss of $131,000, compared with a net loss of $525,000 in the third quarter of 2000. The company is on track to achieve profitability in the fourth quarter, according to president and CEO Albert Emola.
