Computer-aided detection developer iCAD of Nashua, NH, and advanced visualization firm TeraRecon of San Mateo, CA, have expanded their technology partnership.
The firms said that iCAD will integrate its CT Colon computer-aided detection software for virtual colonoscopy with TeraRecon's Aquarius 3D software. TeraRecon is developing a new image processing server to work in conjunction with PACS and DICOM image review workstations, and the server will include iCAD software for both colon and lung applications. Results from the CT Colon interpretations will be sent to TeraRecon's Aquarius Workstation.
iCAD expects that CT Colon will be commercially available in 2006, following regulatory review by the Food and Drug Administration.
