At this year's RSNA conference, Barco's highlight will be an enterprise version of the company's Voxar 3D advanced visualization software.
Voxar 3D Enterprise is designed to make 3D image review applications available throughout the healthcare enterprise. It employs server-based technology and high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs), which enable users to more quickly load, review, report, and communicate patient cases with their colleagues.
The software gives users the ability to interact in real time with large volumetric studies, such as multiphase cardiac CT exams. It can also be integrated with enterprise-wide PACS environments, giving PACS users one-click access to Voxar 3D's visualization tools.
In its RSNA booth, Barco will demonstrate Voxar 3D Enterprise's solution for home networking, according to the Kortrijk, Belgium company. Barco will also demonstrate version 6.3 of Voxar 3D, which has new clinical application modules for PET/CT fusion and primary 2D and 3D CT colonography reading, including integration with CAD. Voxar 3D Enterprise is currently available for commercial distribution in the U.S.
