Philips Medical Systems introduced a 4D cardiac ultrasound transducer for infants and children at this week's 2006 American Heart Association (AHA) meeting.
The transducer is designed to aid cardiologists in viewing a patient's cardiac structure and blood flow by improving access to the heart, according to the Andover, MA-based firm.
X7-2 x-Matrix array, in conjunction with the firm's QLAB quantification software, allows cardiologists to evaluate a pediatric patient's heart, blood flow, and function, Philips said.
