Advanced visualization software developer Ziosoft of Redwood City, CA, launched a new software suite for MRI cardiac analysis at last week's RSNA meeting in Chicago.
The MR Cardiac Analysis suite is designed for the company's Ziostation software package to provide analysis of cardiac MRI scans. In its RSNA booth, the company demonstrated a work-in-progress strain analysis feature and discussed coronary, time-intensity, and time-delayed signal intensity analysis tools that are available in select markets outside the U.S.
Another highlight in the company's booth was PhyZiodynamics, a new advanced visualization platform that Ziosoft first announced at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in March 2010. The platform uses supercomputing technology to provide dynamic functional imaging analysis based on true-fidelity images.
In its booth, the company demonstrated PhyZiodynamics providing dynamic in vivo cardiac CT images; users can navigate through cardiac anatomy to appreciate different views of the heart, the company said.
The software also supports access to data from across the healthcare enterprise with multiple concurrent users, without the need for separate application virtualization components, according to the company. Ziosoft is scheduled to begin commercial deliveries of the software in Q1, with the live in vivo functionality available as an option.
Ziosoft also highlighted workflow enhancement tools that include customizable protocols for any case or user type, eliminating the need for a one-size-fits-all application, while automated preprocessing based on user-defined rules allows "virtual users" to perform data processing 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
Finally, the company highlighted a specialized liver application for surgical and treatment planning that offers automatic segmentation of the liver, providing a guided workflow wizard for segmenting vascular structure, hepatic lobes, and lesions.
