Software developer Broncus Technologies has introduced version 3.0 of its LungPoint image-guided navigation software.
LungPoint allows for preprocedure mapping and visual guidance during bronchoscopy. The new release now includes functionality for placing fiducial markers that guide radiation beams during early-stage lung cancer treatments, according to the Mountain View, CA-based vendor.
Other new features with version 3.0 include a new "virtual fluoroscopy" view that displays the position of the bronchoscope in a fluoroscopic-type image similar to one commonly used during the procedure, Broncus said. The software's target overlays have also been enhanced.
