Dear AuntMinnie Member,
Last fall, our PACS in an Age of Change virtual conference brought hundreds of radiology professionals together to interact, learn, and even socialize in a unique virtual environment. We got tons of great feedback on the event, which is why we're pleased to bring you PACS in an Age of Change Spring Edition, to be held May 17.
We're bringing next month's event to you in collaboration with the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM), radiology's leading organization for education on imaging informatics. Our leadoff presentation features several SIIM thought leaders who will give you a preview of the hot topics to be discussed at SIIM's annual meeting in Washington, DC, June 2-5.
Other presentations at the virtual conference will cover subjects such as meaningful use and radiology, cloud computing, viewing images on mobile devices such as iPods and iPads, and using business analytics to improve your practice.
As with our fall event, it's free to attend, and we'll be giving away great prizes to attendees -- but you will need to register. To learn more, click here or go to pacsspring.auntminnie.com. See you on May 17!
Toshiba to buy Vital Images
In other news, multimodality vendor Toshiba Medical Systems announced yesterday that it has signed a deal to acquire Vital Images, one of the major players in the advanced visualization software segment.
Toshiba and Vital have a longstanding relationship that goes back for years, with Vital supplying Toshiba with the software expertise required to handle the massive datasets generated by multislice CT scanners.
The deal is the second acquisition Toshiba has made in the 3D imaging space in recent years -- learn more by clicking here, or visit our Advanced Visualization Digital Community at av.auntminnie.com.
