Advanced visualization developer Fovia said it will collaborate with i-Human Patients to incorporate 3D imaging into i-Human's cloud-based interactive teaching tool.
Fovia's High Definition Volume Rendering (HDVR) Connect thin-client-server software will enable i-Human to incorporate high-resolution 3D images into its virtual patient cases, including those delivered via the Internet, the companies said. HDVR, which enables real-time, interactive functionality with deep super-sampling, will become an integral part of i-Human's active-learning training modules depicting anatomy and psychophysiological conditions, they said.
In addition, i-Human's virtual training 3D teaching modules will be more accessible with embedded HDVR software, saving development time. Previously, mesh-based teaching modules such as i-Human's have taken years to create, but they still lacked essential elements for educating students about pathologies and cutting-edge surgical techniques, according to the companies. The ability to visualize CT and MR cases in real-time represents a technological breakthrough that will permit better analysis of 3D anatomical structures.
