FundamentalVR, Mayo Clinic partner on virtual reality

Virtual reality training and data analysis company FundamentalVR has announced a three-year collaboration with the Mayo Clinic to develop educational and surgical simulation content in virtual reality.

The groups will focus first on applying virtual reality to the field of general surgery. They will then delve into combining the technology with medical imaging data for robotic and patient-specific surgical simulation, FundamentalVR said.

FundamentalVR has already installed its Fundamental Surgery simulation software at Mayo Clinic centers in Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota.
