Siemens Medical Systems has introduced Koordinat OR, a new feature for its Angiostar Plus vascular imaging and intervention system. Koordinat OR helps physicians improve endovascular intervention and surgical precision with large-field-of-view imaging, according to the Iselin, NJ-based vendor.
Siemens said Koordinat OR is ideal for performing intra-abdominal aortic stent-graph procedures, as well as all other routine interventions. In response to surgeons’ requirements, the C-arm design has been adapted to park completely away from the OR table, or to be positioned laterally to the patient's left side. Its design provides instant access to the patient in case the procedure needs to be converted to an open surgical incision. The C-arm’s floor-mounted design reduces the risk of infection by eliminating the need for overhead rails, which may harbor dust, according to the vendor.
The new Koordinat OR table can be purchased with the system or separately. The table provides a four-axis tilt of 15º in each direction. The cradle tilt function aids in surgical access, while also allowing CO2 imaging.
Containing a backup power supply safety feature, the table offers Trendelenberg and reverse Trendelenberg tilt, a capability that aids in drainage procedures as well as anesthesia intubation. The table can accommodate large patients weighing 440 pounds and provides panning in a manual and power-assist mode, according to Siemens.
