Optical coherence tomography developer LightLab Imaging is beginning human testing of its Optical Biopsy Forceps and the latest version of its OCT high-resolution imaging platform. The study, being conducted at Duke University in Durham, NC, is focused on detecting precancerous tissues in Barrett's esophagus patients and directing the associated tissue biopsies, according to the Westford, MA-based firm.
