Handheld-ultrasound developer SonoSite of Bothell, WA, has introduced a new transducer designed to be used during vascular surgical procedures. Called the Hockey Stick Transducer (HST), the probe’s hockey-stick shape and small footprint enables it to be used in surgical applications.
SonoSite HST is the company’s first foray into the intraoperative market, and SonoSite hopes the product will enable it to take market share from larger, bulkier ultrasound systems. HST works with the company’s 180Plus and SonoHeart Elite systems.
