Image-guided interventional surgery firm Stereotaxis has started commercial shipments of its new product family of Cronus magnetically enabled 0.014-inch (0.036-cm) vascular guidewires.
The guidewire family includes the Cronus Soft Support, Cronus Moderate Support, Cronus CS, and Assert guidewires. All the guidewires have a distal coating to enhance therapeutic device advancement and a Neo-55 magnet design for consistent magnetic deflection, according to the St. Louis-based firm.
The new guidewire family also integrates with the company's Niobe magnetic navigation system to provide in-vivo guidewire tip adjustments to facilitate guidewire advancement in tortuous vascular anatomy, Stereotaxis said.
