Image-guided interventional surgery firm Stereotaxis of St. Louis reported first-quarter fiscal 2005 revenue of $5.1 million, a significant increase from the $3.1 million reported for the first quarter of 2004. The firm said it recognized revenue from the sale of five of its Niobe cardiology magnetic instrument control systems in the first quarter.
Net loss for the first quarter (end-March 31) was approximately $7.3 million, an improvement compared with the $7.8 million in losses reported in the prior year's quarter, the company said.
Stereotaxis said that it believes revenue for the 2005 fiscal year will fall within its previously forecasted range of $30 million to $35 million, and that second-quarter revenue will be between $5.5 million and $6.5 million.
