Computer-assisted orthopedic surgery technology firm Orthosoft Holdings has signed an agreement with reconstructive orthopedics firm Zimmer for the development and worldwide distribution of computer-assisted navigation systems for knee, hip, and spine implant surgery.
Under the terms of the deal, Orthosoft of Montreal will provide new software and computerized systems for assisting orthopedic surgeons in installing Zimmer's implants. The Orthosoft products will be designed for use in traditional procedures, Orthosoft said. Zimmer of Warsaw, IN, will distribute the products through its worldwide marketing and sales network.
