3D visualization firm Synaptive Medical has installed its BrightMatter imaging and robotic positioning system at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
BrightMatter features sensor-driven tools for neurosurgery and a long, movable metal arm, which contains a microscope and high-powered lighting to enhance the vision of surgeons.
The arm is linked to sensors built into the surgeon's tools; the sensors are designed to let the doctors know if their instruments are properly aligned before they move forward in the patient's brain.
