Fla. center treats 1st patients with ViewRay's MRIdian

Image-guided radiotherapy developer ViewRay announced that Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has begun treating patients with its MRIdian system.

The first two cancer patients were treated using the system over the past few days at Sylvester, which is part of the University of Miami Health System.

MRIdian integrates MRI technology, radiation delivery, and ViewRay's software to locate, target, and track the position and shape of tumors while radiation is delivered. MRIdian also provides continuous soft-tissue imaging during radiation treatment.
