Advanced visualization firm Fovia has signed a licensing and distribution agreement with medical device company Globus Medical.
Fovia will combine its XStream HDVR software with Globus Medical's ExcelsiusGPS robotic guidance and navigation system for minimally invasive spine and orthopedic surgery applications, according to the vendor. XStream HDVR enables real-time visual exploration of patient data for instrument positioning and screw placement, while ExcelsiusGPS supports integration with preoperative CT, intraoperative CT, and fluoroscopy, Fovia said.
The vendor said the new technology platform will combine the benefits of navigation, robotics, and advanced visualization, and it will also allow rendering of polygon models and volumetric data together.
