MR-guided focused ultrasound (MRgUS) developer Insightec is expanding its presence in Latin America via a partnership with Brazilian medical equipment developer Strattner.
Insightec said it has received market approval for its Exablate 4000 (Neuro) platform from the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) in Brazil. Designed as a treatment for essential tremor and tremor-dominant Parkinson's Disease that has not responded to medications and neuropathic pain, Exablate Neuro provides MR-guided focused ultrasound to ablate tissue deep in the brain, according to the company.
