Orthopedic device developer Stryker has formally launched its Q Guidance system with Spine Guidance software.
Q Guidance features the fourth generation of the company's FP8000 camera, which has been upgraded to improve speed and add multiple optical tracking methods. In addition, Stryker's Spine Guidance software includes redesigned applications, semiautomatic and automatic image processing features, gesture recognition, and broad compatibility with various types of image sets, according to the vendor.
The Spine Guidance software -- when used with Q Guidance -- is a planning and intraoperative guidance system designed to enable open or percutaneous computer-assisted surgery, the company said. The spine navigation software has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance for use with pediatric patients ages 13 and older.
