Mercury debuts new 3D software

Mercury Computer Systems has introduced its TGS Series amira 3D analysis and visualization software for the Apple Mac OS X platform.

Featuring more than 120 modules to handle complex datasets, amira 3.1.1 includes feature sets for 3D microscopy, biology, medical research, and sciences, according to the Chelmsford, MA-based firm. A full-featured version starts at $3,000 for academic research departments.
