Advanced visualization developer Vital Images of Minnetonka, MN, is highlighting a new version of its Vitrea software as a work-in-progress at this week's Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) meeting in Providence, RI.
Major advancements in Vitrea 4.0 include the automation of a number of cardiovascular image processing tools, such as autosegmenting of the coronary tree, that previously required manual interaction. The new release will also include a new tool for selecting a region of interest in neurological images.
Vital Images is also migrating a number of cardiovascular tools from Vitrea to the 4.1 release of its VitalConnect software, which enables users to access advanced visualization images via a Web-based thin client. VitalConnect users will be able to use a number of Vitrea cardiovascular tools, such as vessel probe and autosegmenting.
Both Vitrea 4.0 and VitalConnect 4.1 will be shipping this summer, the company said.
