Medical imaging software and services provider Cedara Software of Mississauga, Ontario, announced the integration of its imaging service grid and a specialized version of its I-Response viewer with the National Cancer Institute's National Cancer Imaging Archive (NCIA), a searchable repository of in vivo cancer images from clinical trials.
With the Cedara products, users will have a central clinical viewer to facilitate the review and analysis of NCIA data, according to the company.
Cedara's imaging service grid includes imaging functions such as complex 2D renderings and 3D imaging that run on servers, reducing the need for more expensive hardware for workstations and networks. The grid has been integrated directly with the archive component of the NCIA.
The distributed processing viewer allows users to employ measurement tools found in I-Response on the selected studies. It includes analysis tools for evaluating and quantifying images from clinical trials, and supports multiple modalities and operates with imaging equipment from different manufacturers, according to Cedara.
