Carestream Health said it received 70 new patents for medical imaging technology in 2020, encompassing digital radiography (DR), mobile x-ray, and other systems.
The patents cover, for example, processing capabilities to calibrate and correct x-ray images in its radiology imaging detectors prior to transmission, according to the vendor. Carestream said that it also garnered patents for long-length medical image-capture technologies involving the use of a single x-ray exposure for full spinal and extremity imaging.
Other new patent awards detail 3D image reconstruction methods, as well as mobile x-ray cart technology that enables bedside imaging in selectable modes for projection radiography, tomosynthesis, and fluoroscopy, the firm said.
The 70 patents included 27 from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and 43 from European and Asian countries, according to Carestream.
