Medical image analysis software developer 4DMedical said that the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) has provided funding for the University of Michigan to acquire the company's Permetium preclinical scanner.
The university's Center for Molecular Imaging in Ann Arbor will use Permetium to image lung function and vascular changes of lung airway disease, according to 4DMedical. It will also utilize the company's XV technology suite to evaluate cardiothoracic vascular remodeling in small-animal models.
