Robert Howard, founder and chairman of Nashua, NH-based computer-aided detection (CAD) developer iCAD, will retire effective November 1.
Howard had served as chairman since the company was established in 1984 and as its CEO from February 1984 until December 1993. He plans to devote more time to personal and philanthropic activities.
Howard also founded Centronics Data Computer, a manufacturer of computer printers, including the first impact dot matrix printer, which Howard invented. He served as the company's president and chairman from 1969 to 1980.
In its announcement, the company gave no indication as to who may replace Howard as chairman.
