Carestream Health has launched new computer-aided detection (CAD) software for its CR-based mammography systems in Europe and Canada.
The Kodak Digital Mammography CAD system is available initially for Kodak DirectView CR 850/950/975 systems.
The Rochester, NY-based company tested the software during a trial earlier this year at Kantonsspital Graubünden Frauenklinik Fontana in Chur, Switzerland. The digital mammography CAD system has been in full clinical operation at the facility since June.
Other installations have followed at Ospedale del Delta in Lagosanto, Italy, and Cabinet de Radiology Coudekerquois in Coudekerque, France. Additional installations are scheduled for Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France, Austria, and Israel before the end of this year.
In other news, the company has completed its data migration project as part of an upgrade to its latest PACS at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Pontypridd, and Rhondda NHS Trust in the U.K.
Approximately 500,000 patient images were transferred to the new Kodak Carestream Versatile Intelligent Patient Archive (VIParchive), providing data storage, viewing, and reporting of patient information for the next five years, according to the company.
